Our facility is a steel building and I have trouble with mine. I can shoot at nothing and get 17 MPH all day long. Pitches will get really weird readings sometimes. 3 then 76 then 12......

Think I am going to just take it out when we eventually get outdoors in WI here - maybe around July......

I had a chance at a tournament a couple weeks ago to check my Pocket Radar against a Stalker gun. Both shooting through the fence. Most of my readings were the same as the Stalker but a few were 1-2 mph slower when I was a little late pushing the button.

The Pocket Radar manual says that things like fans, electrical sources, fluorescent lights, etc. can cause false readings. There may be some of those types of things in the building.

Pocket Radar

I have another "issue" with my pocket radar.

It appears to be site-specific.

Meaning it will offset 3-4 mph based on the environment I am in.

In DD's PC basement small tunnel she will be 4mph on average slower than when DD pitches in the big open gym at her HS.

PC Tunnel is abrasive concrete with rubber and HS gym is basketball floor with duct-taped rubber.

Anyone seeing anything similar?

I wonder if the pocket radar software is sooo complex that this is a potential result (affected by room type).

Of course I can't wait to get it outside but all this friggin snow would have to melt first!!!!!

I have a pocket radar, I have a nice jugs gun. You're right, the pocket radar is more impacted by the environment than is the jugs. Can be several MPH slower than jugs on any given pitch depending where you are. FWIW, my jugs gun is certified tuned.
