This thread. For me it is one of the best resources for sending folks to when they ask for more technical stuff. I find that every time I skim through it, I seem to find a new gem.

Thanks again BoardMember!

Guys, I'm asking nicely please don't pollute this thread with garbage that has nothing to do with learning the basic movement of throwing a softball underhand.

Feel free to start your own thead about what ever you want. This thead is a sticky for a reason. I believe our readers would be better off reading through its content without filtering through content compleately off subject.

Thx for your consideration.....

Mods. One thing that would help keep the sticks clean is to delete (or move) erroneous content that can pop up from time to time in these threads.

Cheers.

So I am new to the forum my daughter has been practicing i/r for about 6 months I found this thread by searching i/r on the web and I love it! My daughter plays on a 10u team. Last night her team pitching coach told my daughter she needs to get behind the ball on her downswing from 12 o'clock. My daughters pitching coach tells her palm toward 3rd base on downswing. I am pretty sure my daughters pitching coach is right but like I said I am new to this and any insight from smarter people will be appreciated. Just another note every other pitcher on her team gets behind the ball and snaps up. So it makes my daughter look odd compared to the other pitchers on her team. PLEASE HELP! I KNOW NOTHING!

This is great stuff my head might explode with all this information!

LOL...Yes it is great stuff! The best part is when after a while you reread and have those "Eureka" moments and it really starts to click!
But don't worry.....eventually your wife and family will get used to it :D

Question, my daughter gets her hand in the correct position at the bottom before release but has the ball pointing outward until then. Is this slowing her speed down or having any other adverse effects?

Like these?

If all else is well, I hope for palm up between 8-7. Facing out between 12-9 is ok by me. For a cue, I like: pull the ball all the way around the circle.
