Default in need of a good pitching coach for my 9 year old daughter

Hello new to this site . I am currently doing my research for a pitching coach for my daughter. She is 9 and wants to pitch and she has been showing a strong Passion for pitching. I live in Bergen county and already compiled a small list of some in the area but would love to hear about personal experiences. Would greatly appreciate any advice or recommendations. She is putting in her practice time and she has been showing a unbelievable work ethic. So I want to get her going after her summer softball camp in 2 weeks.

Without question, get to the Softball Pitching Center in Ramsey and ask for Laura.

LOL, if this isn't a case of self-promotion.... Nobody EVER gets an answer to a question like this that quickly. Even better that it's by 2 people who just joined and it's their 1st posts... BTW, how did you know which state they were in?

So you are saying that there are no other Bergen Counties in the USA?

Nope -- sorry! I'm the parent of a student.

My daughter started with Laura at 10 and is now finishing up 12U ball and preparing for 14U club ball. I've lurked around this site for a long time and really only took an interest in replying as I saw "Bergen County" and that is where I live. I'm aware of a number of places where girls can get instruction and we've been exposed to a few -- Laura was not our first rodeo.

By the way, this is a small but busy place that I recommended and I'm not even certain a new student CAN get in... it's not MY business. But if you CAN get in there, what you get is good.

I can also highly recommend the Softball Tunnel on the same street for rotational batting instruction (but I don't think they'll teach a 9 year old JUST yet!). I can't vouch for their pitching instruction because we've not been in the market for another coach for a couple of years but I know it's there. I have some other names also... but we like this place the best.

There are also pitching places in Lodi, Fair Lawn, Closter, and several in Rockland County across the NY border. If you're from around this area, you can figure out who they are. There is EVEN a place super-close to our home in Westwood, NJ but we've never been there. We haven't felt the need.

    one other quick thing...

I see the original poster asked for some advice and I'd like to add a little something - especially since your girl is so young. DON'T be worried about how many different movement pitches she has. She'll be learning correct mechanics for a long time and you'll be much better off with 2 or 3 breaking pitches as she develops that REALLY work. There are a lot of instructors who are giving kids 5, 6 and 7 pitches that don't do BEANS! Be patient, and enjoy the ride as mechanics improve and velocity comes -- then the rest starts to fall into place.

Agreed that this looks a little fishy, but the explanation seems legit.

I also assumed Bergen County, NJ as well, and I live in CA. Hopefully fastpitch is growing rapidly in that densely-populated part of the country.

Not like you guys! There are some club teams in the area, but my kid's age group seems to have JUST a tad less interest in the sport than the '97s and '98s. There seems to be a bubble of interest in that age group -- teams my daughter tried out for last summer ended up not even fielding teams in her age group even though they still had 14u, 16u etc. Lotsa girls seem to be into soccer! ;-)

Around here, you're far more likely to find all-star town travel daddyball type stuff rather than quality club teams. But there ARE some around...

    Our girl likes softball!

Thank u watchingball. As far as crystal I mean no disrespect but not looking for replies that put down others who took the time out to reply. Looking for positive replies that will help my daughter and I in choosing the right pitching coach. And yes it is.Bergen county nj. Also don't think asking for advice is self promoting, just looking to help out my daughter improve her pitching mechanics. If u mean talking about her work ethic, I am just stating a fact. Thank u. If u have some advice i would appreciate it. P
