boys, especially once they have gotten to school age, derive a lot of their power from upper body, arms, shoulders and maybe most importantly wrists and hands. girls on the other hand rely more on lower body to get the bat in motion. i know that be it girls or boys the power in a swing is suppose to come from the lower body and when done correctly it does. but boys can use their upper body to get the bat in motion. this is certainly not meant do be anything against girls, it's just that there is physical differences and i do think that it makes a difference in the swing. well i've got to run, we're playing in a tournament today. hopefully my girls will swing the bat ![]() |

First, the towel where his bottom hand is holding is below the bat knob.
Secondly, so now you are saying that you swing with a "high level pattern." Please video the inference of which you can swing like Bonds. ![]() Thirdly, I don't know that Englishbey proclaims himself anything at all other than a hitting instructor that gives lessons, produced DVDs on PCR and who travels around putting on clinics for coaches, teams and players. I've never heard him call himself anything other than that. For all others, please go to Baseball Fever and check out recent posts by "Justthefacts." That gentleman is Paul Nyman. He has very precise posts on PCR, the instruction of it ... You seem to disregard my point of emphasis that you used similar video of Bond for years supporting the concepts taught by Englishbey/Nyman. Do you deny this? How can you justify years of saying this pattern is the MLB pattern and now it is not? Did you read my post or where you just quick to attack Englishbey. I said that in my belief there is one swing pattern that can be successful for both boys and girls and so both genders can be instructed the same way. You are the one on record as stating that girls can't/haven't achieved anything similar to the MLB swing with the exception of Bustos. |

You said, "I just took several swings with a towel over the handle and it did not preclude my lower body from swinging within the high level pattern. The baseball pattern." Thereby also insinuating that you can swing with a high level pattern. You then use Bonds as the example of a high level pattern. Therefore, it is then valid since you suggest that you swing with a high level pattern and that Bonds swings with a high level pattern that you swing like Bonds. BTW, to suggest that I don't swing a bat would be based upon ??? You don't have a clue as to what I do. You suggest you swing in a high level pattern. VIDEO! I've never claimed any such ability. Per Honesty, you didn't even go there did you? Only my sense of class prevents me from posting a link here. |

I'm thinking that when the other members of this forum read these posts, they can draw their own conclusions as to who is doing what.
Thanks for the offer to work with my daughter. However, I don't recall asking for help. In fact, we're happy with everything we're doing now. I'm sure that you have ideas. Those ideas won't fit into what has proven successful for her since we differ so much on philosophies. Success as determined by the number of MVP Awards she has earned this summer in tournaments (3 out 7 tournaments entered with the most recent one being a game MVP at the Mattoon Bagelfest. Amy in AZ, I believe, can speak for the quality of that tournament.) Success as determined by being the only freshman and the first one in four years to start at our HS. (The only 3 players that have ever started as freshmen at our school have gone on to play D-I softball.) Success as determined by being All-Conference and honorable mention all-area (Belleville News Democrat) All of that at the ripe old age of 14. Yes, she has a long way to go. However, she is doing just fine. The only video of her around is on a private site. Beside, you would know that the general public can be cruel to those that post video of their children on public sites. You son has had his fair share of attacks which is inherently unfair to him. You could also reference comments about another prominent poster who's daughter has done well and yet, suffered attacks due to video that was posted. Concerning the video of Bonds, please cite where I mentioned anything about PCR and Bonds ever! |
