So Cal
Why do you think the movement back towards the catcher is an issue?

I see her doing a lot of stuff right, including engaging the muscles of the back in the right direction (pulling, not pushing). I really like the violence she unleashes on the ball.

Not here.
Swing looks good but.....can be better. The hand pivot point can be tighter/near arm pit rear shoulder and less shoulder rotation.
This explains what I'm thinking and seeing:
How far back do those hands have to go before anything gets tight?
How far back do these go....

A hand pivot point REQUIRES a handset that is at/near the shoulder tip or armpit area at go. When the hands get further back than that, energy MUST be applied and delivered 'down the length' of the bat....by way of an arm pull which is usually accompanied with an arm/hand push at/through contact.
Do you see this move in the professional hitters above?

My question "how long is your rope" refers to the distance you had to take the hands back before you achieved anything resembling a tight stretch. And you have to take them back that far because you're loading your arms. And, you're loading your lead side armpit area, that is what gets stretched, that is what gets loaded, so your shoulder rotation can pull your bat through.

What must happen instead of that is.....you must get stretch 'around' the rear hip socket so you can stay tight and compact. When you do that your hands will remain at/near the armpit or shoulder tip.....AND.....you'll be stretched. You do that by coiling properly and then continuing to pull rearward with your lower back. The stretch you want is of the fascia, the white stuff that attaches the muscle to the spine in your lower back.

Again, just what I see and doesn't mean your DD wont be successful with her current swing..just me 'nit picking'.

Agree, as long as the knee stays inside the foot...the hip inside the knee...I don't see her going back too far.

Eric I should have clarified which part I am talking. It may be hard to see if you are not looking at it frame by frame but it is when she at the point of contact and slightly before. So after her body is pretty much rotated there is a shove like motion (IOW). If you watch her pony tail you can probably tell by the way it gets whipped around it happens very quickly. It is basically a snap of the upper body back towards the catcher and then she straightens back up for the most part. It reminds of what one poster said about the young man doing the command drill in the "What Are You Doing About DBSF" thread. The poster said that he is off balance and will suffer because of it. To me what my DD is doing is similar to what that young man did in the clip but looks to be more violent. Posters have mentioned it before but never offered any incite on it probably due to me claiming it was do to other circumstances like her plant foot slipped or so on. So I am hoping to may be get some ideas on how to try and attack this issue.

Yes the bold seems to be accurate to what I am seeing. Trying to develop a HPP has been a long battle. Thanks for the post RDB.

The following videos are a few swings working the inside off of the tee. Any and all suggestions are welcome. She is still throwing herself back towards the catcher if anyone has ever come across this please do not be shy. We have been working on barrel turn and trying to be more sudden. Lookz good to me... try using this set up to give her instant feedback... get where she can put it just under top line 50 1/2" everytime

I see her head raise up as she goes through contact - mis-direction of energy for me. My dd used to do it and Jerry Brewer was kind enough to point it out

Yes I have noticed that she does that. Do you mind sharing what helped your DD get past that issue? We have been working trying to not shift weight to early which is what I think may be causing it but I am just guessing?
