This guy's back foot is weightless. Is this how we want to get the weight to the front side? I know I sure don't......

I must be missing something. What part of his swing is wrong?

Momentum based. No overlap. Shift THEN swing. No early bat speed. Push

Compare.....

Watch Rizzo's back foot - know yall are saying it's a "result" - but if student isn't "feeling" that in their foot as a result of FBC, they aren't doing it correctly imho.

I can't thank everyone enough. So much support. Ends if some of it bordered off topic it's good to see debate. We have been working on sequence and weight transfer. She has had a great weekend since then going 7 of 9 with one ground out (old habit) and a liner to the pitcher. Here's the update. It's a work in progress and you can see some old habits in the swing. One side and one facing. What I need are priorities. She and I have struggled with trying to fix everything at once. It is frustrating trying to fix too much at once. Again, I appreciate honesty. If I wanted affirmation I would go to her grandma.

As for the tee position I understand that I control a lot as her dad and coach but remember that there are flaws in her swing that cause her to want to set up that far behind the ball. I fight this all the time but she sets up back there time after time. Watch her foot advance beyond the tee then retract. Possibly another clue. I control a lot but she prefers the tee out front like that. Another correction for me, but I need to know what to do first. Let me know if you saw any progress.

By the way you are looking at someone with true habits. She plays a lot of softball. About 100 games each of the last three years. So change won't be as fast as I want it.

So Cal
I'm seeing everything turning forward together - hands, hip, knee. We want to see the lower half going before the upper half. Try this...Stand behind her, hold her shoulders to keep them from turning, and ask her to turn her rear hip forward. As the hip turns, she should feel muscle tension up the right side of her back increase. Then, have her try to get that feeling happening in her swing by getting the hip started first, as the hands/scap continue to pull up and back. Do it right, and it will feel like the hip is pulling the hands.
