Not here.
Again all that to say it does not matter how you get there (the stills at heel plant)but you gotta get there

Sure it does....if you don't get there on time your LATE but, you got there.

I did not say it did not matter WHEN I said it did not matter HOW ;) .. check out some of the guys at the World Series I would not teach half of those styles but in the end they all end up there.

another thing that jumped out at me was her dropping her hands; this still captures it perfectly...I only see it quickly because my DD sometimes reverts to doing this she does not play travel but play for her HS team gotta keep hands above the ball for low balls is all about bat angle she need to look like the other pic. You can use tee work to start correcting this problem then start front toss keeping everything low. fear not this is a process a marathon not a sprint

Hi. 2 Time 1st team All American here. I also suggest you study Lauren Chamberlain's swing! There's one on YouTube that talks in detail about her load.

It's crucial to know the steps of the swing. However, it's more crucial to know when to apply the steps. The load and separation of hands and feet are not only to provide power, but they are also your timing mechanism to know when to swing.

It's so hard to coach over a screen. My advice is to work on the load and forward hip drive of the legs. When I think of a good swing, I don't think arms, I think legs. The swing is built from the ground up.

I would put her on a tee, have her get into her stance (making sure she has a nice balanced stance and isn't starting loaded on the back leg, or with the front heel up. Just a nice good balanced stance). Next, I would have her touch her front knee to her back knee and come back to balanced and swing. This gives her the feeling of loading back, and then coming forward to the ball. Make sure the front leg is firm and straight as it is leverage to throw the hips.

Another great drill is to start with feet together and step into the tee to hit. Also giving the feeling to stepping to the ball. We don't want a squish the bug swing, we want a forward solid hip drive.

About the load...
The load to the back leg happens during too he pitchers windup. The step forward to the ball and separation of hands and feet (walking away from the hands) happens at too hehe release of the ball from the hip. This is what you're timing on deck, the load to contact point (which is at the front foot).

Again, if you build the swing from the legs up, I think the timing will come back, and more power.

Really study up on the load and separation of hands and feet. Study up on drills and build that muscle memory.

If she has an issue with dropping her hands, do the opposite of what she's doing. If she likes to start with her hands high, and drops them down low, then have her start low, and pick up her hands. This issue is often corrected by doing the opposite motion.

Also, I do believe that with a proper load, the hands will naturally get to where they need to be, because the bottom and top half work together. If she loads properly with her legs, her hands will go back, her shoulder should slightly close and her hands and feet should separate on the stride. This is why I say the swing is built from the ground up. Hands will follow.

The elvis drill is a great drill to apply to teach stride, heel plant and the back knee engaging the swing.

I wouldn't worry about arms just yet.
