Hoping this thread will shed some light on what is termed pattern and sequence.
The pattern (also called style) is everything leading up to pitcher's release. It's how a hitter times the pitcher.
The sequence is everything at and after release and is how the hitter times the ball.
The left frame is pattern - the right frame is sequence.
Clips will follow.
I give full credit to Noon for showing me how to make these clips. Also props to Swingbuilder from BBD giving Noon the guidance to see the pattern and the sequence in hitters.
The late coil he speaks of happens at release and while the ball is in the air. The sequence of the best hitters in the game is pretty much universal. How you get there is the pattern/style. How you coil is a whole nuther matter.
