Drop Barrel Swing Flat?
This is a huge, persistent problem. I like to focus on the sequence, hands aren't allowed to go to the ball until the hips and then shoulders have started to turn.

Not here.
For my DD I 'focused' on stressing to keep the bat vertical/near vertical during tee work. Constantly reminding her to 'keep the bat up/vertical. I also used the 'Command Drill'.

Exactly what RDB said. BP work of a vertical bat, plus a higher handset, and a plan of a sudden vert barrel to ball. Vary up the timing on pitching. The barrel flatten habit tends to happen more as a natural timing adjustment to launching too early.

We (dd and I) have been working on coping Braun's barrel and handset for the last week. Dd hasn't had homerun power for a couple months now and inconsistent contact with the ball. Often moon shots or topping the ball. We watched several of her older home runs and one easy noticible difference was her hand set. Her hands were higher than her shoulder and her elbow was at shoulder level. Her swing for the last few months her hands were a little lower than shoulder and she would raise her elbow up above her shoulder. Her swing would turn into an arm hand plunge without torso resisting the lower half. It's been a battle working on it until last week with the DUH moment of getting her hands up. Now she's back to a much shorter swing and "getting into her back" instead of arms.
If you can find a video of Ryan Braun from the last few months, (he changed his swing a little) a perfectly vert bat and high hands...study and copy that.

I has believe having the rear elbow get into the horizontal position during the 'load' helped my DD.

Practice getting into this position then 'right to ball'(Command Drill) at go...no, none, nota 'slop'. Just Gooooo to 'launch' swing.

I agree with the others, and some very good ideas have been posted. When I first started working on this problem with my DD, it was a struggle just to get her to understand what she was doing. I tried to explain it to her, but she didn't believe me :) So we started doing a lot of front toss. But every once in a while, I would fake a pitch. Sure enough, the tip of the barrel would rapidly drop behind her. Then the light bulb went on. Once I convinced her to keep the bat more vertical until launch, the problem was eliminated.

It'll depend on the root cause.... in most cases it's because the back elbow is well ahead of the hands. This causes the back shoulder to drop and then the barrel flattens. This happens when there is too much emphasis on the upper body. To fix it, I like to pin the barrel down to the shoulder and tell them to keep their hands back until the front side leg is firming up (cracking the nut). This will force them to get a proper sequence in the swing from the ground up.... not the top down. Improper sequencing is almost always the case.

This is what worked for my DD. I also took a piece of duct tape and ran it along the length of the barrel. During set up had it facing the pitcher and hit into a heavy bag and told her that the tape had to be facing her when the bat stopped. Then moved to a tee and took video to ensure that the untaped side of the barrel hit the ball and the moved to front toss with the same objective. Proved to be very effective for her to cure the DBSF issue.
