I think they are both good examples. IMO though I think CP was right that it could be a tad tighter.

I'm not right...wasn't trying to be...nor was I trying to poke at what RDB posted...I was JUST asking a question...nothing more...nothing less...

I think it's a great drill to work on DBSF and the swing in general...I was just looking for confirmation on doing it correctly...

I appreciate the input...CP

Not trying to be 'right' neither ( married and gave that up long ago..ha ha) I'm hoping I clarified how I used the drill. I'm guessing I moved/viewed gif as step #2 as I progressed too (wasn't the original drill name wise that I posted) I was looking for a drill that was a good progression to a live game swing.

That makes sense to me......I think there is benefit in tweaking drills to make them most suitable for helping your hitter. Getting the feels/actions of a drill to transfer into a game swing is always a challenge!
For the longest time I couldn't understand how a 90 degree SnF had anything to do with a game swing...

Until you 45 degree.....progressions

That's exactly what first came to mind when you described your use of the command drill! I remember awhile back learning the 45 degree SnF with a dynamic load.......progressions...

There is a huge difference in these two swings. The top kid will be have a much greater ability to be successful.

Stever - What are the things which standout for the top video swing to be more successful or the bottom swing not as successful?

Balance. The bottom kids head is about over his back foot. This will lower the BA.
There is no real weight shift with the bottom hitter either.

The top hitter, although lazy with the lower half, exhibits both balance and weight shift.
