I usually don't post golf videos but that one helped me a lot
https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=YfP2nXKcSHg

In golf maintain the tush line is keeping the back (not toward the "catcher" but away from the ball or home plate). It means you keep the hips flexed as you rotate and not extend. That helps keeping the forward lean the plate (anterior tilt) and it also helps keeping the swing plane and bat Angie steep enough.

Many kids couple the rotation with a powerful hip extension. That means right hip goes toward home plate, spine stands up and ultimately flatten than swing.

Keeping hips bent and away from the plate as you rotate (almost sit down more into rotation) can help with all those things.

In the end the hips can extend but not until the hips have almost completed the turn. Extending the hips before you turn is a killer.

I know it didn't get many responses but here is another video to that topic. https://youtu.be/RCXNXnoQbEA

I believe that is one of the biggest issues in young hitters and also can be a reason for DBSF because if you stand up you can't really have a diagonal swing plane.

thanks for bumping this, interesting vids. I agree, the movement of the backside can be hard to grasp and teach.

There is another thread here about teaching younger kids to hit and these videos can help alot. A lot of young hitters do the DBSU as they chase the ball with their bat. This is the right age to start teaching them about maintaining proper body lines and the mechanics, and not to focus on the outcomes.
