Thanks, yes I also see the bat drag. I think she needs to keep her hands in a bit more so she's not extended too soon.

Thanks for the feedback

Not a bad swing over all. Going forward, I would work on the touch of 'Bat drag' I see in this swing.

wow I was thinking the same thing but it is really not much I rewatched a bunch. easy tell is since it is shot through the fence use the chain links as a guide watch where she starts her hands where they are at toe touch then without much separation (there is some) drop them along with the bat. Trace where you think a perfect swing they watch her swing. I'd really want to see several swings at different pitches before making changes. I'd also want to see her approach to live pitching. All in all a pretty good swing, hopefully the really technical guys can help because I don't see anything terrible that jumps out at me. I might teach more of a step with a little more separation but those are preferences not basics. Good luck!!

Just give her location work. Set her up so the ball is in on her hands and let her self teach how much of the "drag" she wants to remove in order to still hit a waist high pitch on the inside in fair territory with some power. I put it in quotes because there is DRAG...and then there is the elbow leading the hands early in the swing a bit. She is more of the latter. Her elbow lead is a little sharper and lasts a frame longer than this. But then again she is 11 and he is the captain.

Her energy flow is great, her intuitive understanding of her swing is great...she has a little bit of a longer swing but has still adjusted to being able to get the ball out in front. True bat draggers struggle being on time and are habitually late due to the length of the swing.

Looking for some feedback on DD's swing. She's been working at it and has been hitting with more power. She tends to be a touch early in games at times but she's learning to let the ball travel more.

Thanks

I agree with others.. Nice swing = Don't mess with it !!! Or go to hitting clinics and have others break it.. Getting the movement pattern back can be a difficult task at best..

Thanks JJsqueeze, I'll try that next workout. I agree that it's a bit long and we'll continue to work on it but she doesn't have trouble hitting off the better pitchers, so it's not too long. Always room for improvement.

Don't get me wrong....I prefer a swing that might be a bit long to the typical quick handsy swings you see so many instructors teach. As long as she understands her own swing and can get started at the right time for HER swing then she is fine. Older DD has a pretty long swing and I am not trying to get her to shorten up on anything but a two strike count, I love the power she has in that longer swing, I want her getting after it early in counts and just understanding that she can swing at 80% with more control and be quicker to the ball and still drive the gaps when she needs to.
