Looking for some insight on the significance of toe touch and heel plant, and how important or critical it is with the sequence. Is it something that should not be ignored? Is it important to discuss them separately as separate elements of the sequence? Does one or the other signal another movement?

Thanks.

Without sounding like a smart a$$...grab a bat and see for yourself...

Then...

Does what you feel match up to something like this?

To me toe touch and heel plant are just "checkpoints" to the swing...I want to see what the rest of the body is doing at these points...is anything lagging behind or in most cases with young hitters, it's more like what part of the sequence is being bypassed...CP

IMO, they are more "style" than anything else. In the gifs below you will notice that with Davis, toe touch and heel plant happen almost at the exact same time. But with Russell, there is a much more pronounced toe touch. In either case, heel plant is something that happens as the result of the swing.
