T work. Progression drills on the T. I am going to keep a video file of DD swing for comparison from start of lessons until Spring.

JMHO...skip the lessons. Get the swing correct off of the tee, first.

Why all the excess movement initially. What's the benifit of leaning towards the pitcher.

It looks to me like someone is trying to teach her "rhythm". While rhythm is an important component of sequence (IMO), I would prefer to see some separation as well. That is a trait that is missing in these examples.

I agree. I teach a full separation, aka stretch... That is my rhythm. IMO leaning out towards the pitcher will force her to start too soon and will now fall victim to any changes in speeds, because her "rhythm" is grossly disrupted.

It actually helps her stay relaxed and prevents her from loading to early and waiting for the pitcher to start her motion which was causing her timing problems. For some reason they aren't calling the 20 second rule around here. In this instance DD had no lower half at the start of the lesson. Mind you, this is her first lesson, not the finished swing.

I realize it's not finished, and she's a young player, I was curious if the pre motion was something the new instructor was teaching
