If you read the promo they basically claim its fool proof. Just pick it up and swing. I can see where this would help with elbow ahead of hands and possibly lunging. I have also read that it can be a very bad tool in the wrong hands?

What is the main thing to focus on or avoid when using this tool?

What is your concern with using the insider bat Mr\Ms\Mrs. "Builder?"

Personally, I prefer the Impact Bat due to the swing weight (based on a 14" fulcrum) and length.

Do you have any experience with that product new poster Mr\Ms\Mrs Builder?

My initial thoughts were positive, thinking it would promote a better path etc... however, I quickly moved away from it with my players due to its feather light weight. Feels like your swinging air. And for only that reason I didn't care for it. It's a great idea, and I think if it where made heavier and was heavy duty to withstand contact with real balls it would be a better fit for me.

Funny you brought up the slow mo one hand drills, because that's exactly how I chose to use it. It's angle promotes keeping the hands in front of the barrel. But when the kids would go back to a regular bat it was just too big of a contrast.

I used to use it a lot but it didn't seem to transfer over to her swings with her normal bat. We will use it occasionally for one arm swings but I'm not doing many of those anymore either. We actually use the impact bat more, but only when we have to swing indoors with foam balls.

I'm not familiar with the impact bat...
I've got the "swing bat". It's the game weighed bat with a ball on a slide. I like to use it as an on deck bat as well as a part of our routine in bp. I'll use baseball rebellions' elastic band connection devise with the swing bat together. We'll take about 5 cuts to each of the 9 zones with both tools at the same time as a warm up before going into tee work. This mimics a real cut way more than the insider bat.

The impact bat is just a flat bat made out of hard wood. You could actually make one really easy but I was lazy so I bought one cheap off someone. It just makes it really easy to see if they roll over too early or uppercut etc...
It's definitely not a must have, but it's a nice change of pace for practicing.

Like coach james, we used it for a while and I do think it helped DD with a few issues, but we don't pick it up anymore. I look at some of the tools we use as temporary. I get them (hopefully used and cheap), we use them until the need is gone, then I sell them, and go buy more softball tools....never ending cycle!
