Her back elbow gets ahead of the bat knob during the swing, aka bat drag. Pretty common in 12U and on this forum. I'll hand off to those who are better at teaching this than me.

She seems to have good balance and a nice upward swing, such that I'd guess she gets some liners and balls into the outfield against pitching that she can handle.

Always fun for me to see dads in front of screens on softball fields throwing batting practice to daughters. One of my favorite activities, for sure.

Common fault of younger hitters is the negative ( going backward) at contact. Which usually causes lifting in the swing

A lot of lift in her swing, try to adjust her AOA ( angle of attack) to more of a flatter path

Curious, can you explain further?
You're not saying this position at contact?

Dad,
DD swings 'around her body' and not 'out from' her body. Also 'creating a corner' might help your DD with her swinging beside her/out in front of herself. JMHO.

At contact or just after, the head an upper half is moving back..
I like to teach , neutral to load ( negative) to contact (moving positive )and finish going forward
Deliver energy down range

Can you post an example of a hitter or point me to a hitter that....
neutral to load ( negative) to contact (moving positive )and finish going forward
Deliver energy down range
Like to see what you teach.
Thanks.

I agree that there should be some forward energy that is missing here. Perhaps the 'kickback' she's getting is a symptom of that. Not sure what you mean by 'finish going forward.' What I see in elite hitters is that the the head moves forward until the front foot comes down and the swing is initiated.. At that point, the torso rotates around an axis drawn from head to front foot. That axis is not going forward, and might move back after contact.
