My daughter has been focused on pitching and she's never really focused on batting. This is really her 1st year of softball. She's never really learned how to bat. She just does it. And she actually is a good batter (in the sense of actually hitting the ball). But, I know her fundamentals need work. Need advice. Thanks.

DON'T do much! I see a "diamond in the rough". Just work on keeping her hands tighter to her right shoulder longer. Keep her hands up above the ball and take the barrel to the ball.

Thanks for the feedback. So when the ball is coming she should keep her hands above wherever the ball is and tilt the bat to the ball?

I agree with RHC...lots of athleticism here

Simple starters:

Move her closer to the tee. This will force her to keep that hands tighter to her right shoulder. With the tee that far away, she HAS to get to full extension at\before impact.

Enjoy the ride...read\learn as much as you can...CP

I believe I see what you see .... sort of a 'cast' to the opposite batters box.

The mindset of this batter appears to be more a pull along the axis of the barrel as opposed to an orthogonal turn of the barrel and then release along the axis of the barrel. It won't be enough to keep the hands tighter to her rear shoulder until that is corrected. It is the pulling along the axis that is causing the cast. In simplistic terms, she needs to learn how turn the barrel perpendicular to her rear forearm.

What problems does turning the barrel solve, because I see some major flaws in how the body works to swing a bat. Look at the amount of head movement in the gif.

Pifchers are always working on pitching. It takes allot of work to become a good hitter for many. Just apply the basics and go from there.
