Trying to get some feedback on where DD's swing needs improvement heading into the season. I will say that she is hitting the ball very well in practice right now. The results are there. Some hard line drives and grounders up the middle, with the majority of good hits being on the left side. Now for the hitting form. What do you see?
I can clearly see the elbow getting ahead of the hands here. I would like some advice on how to fix that.
What are the next things to work on to improve things here on the road to a high(er) level swing? Tell me the good and the bad!

THanks,
Stick

At a low level a swing with 'bat drag' can be productive .... and powerful. The issue is that the swing will not scale as the hitter progresses towards seeing better pitching.

All you need to do is look at the tip of the barrel to observe if it is being dragged or not. You do not need to wait for the elbow leading the hands at the RVP-Connection-Point position.

The solution is as easy as turning the barrel.

Easy eh?

Are the two subsequent swings different/better to you?

Turning the barrel needs to happen as a result of lateral tilt... The energy needs to be transferred form the middle through the spine to the arms... The spine needs to swing the arms laterally vs the arms swinging around the spine.

thanks TDS, do you not see lateral tilt on these swings? I think the full speed swing was the weakest of the videos.

A great tool for a swing like hers, where she's letting the back elbow get ahead of her hands is called the "perfect connextion"... Google it, and watch the demo videos.

Thanks CJ I will look that up. In my post I pointed out that the elbow is getting ahead of the hands, and the gif by FF really captures that from the first clip. BUT....How about the 2nd and 3rd clips? Are these better? Are these swings less "pushy"
