Couldn't help but notice that in her demonstration she starts off by setting up so as to have the powerdrive already clicked ... exactly what she said not to do.

Nice catch, FFS
I own the pitching version of the power drive, and will use it occasionally for teaching linear movement. However, I'll turn it around so that it doesn't click and its purpose serves only as an elevated platform for the kids to feel the forward movement into toe touch prior to heel plant.

The 'forward' click in this demonstration isn't taking place until after contact.

In contrast, notice the location of the barrel in the GIF below with the rear foot already pulled off the ground.

For Pujols the 'click' would have taken place prior to contact.

I hear you Pstein ... I have a friend that uses one for pitching ... and there I can see the importance of explosiveness in linear momentum ... but for hitting it is important that the rear leg start out "early and slow" and not initiate forward movement explosively in a manner that would disrupt the mechanics during the "reading of the pitch".

If you coil and put the weight on the instep of the rear foot, it clicks as soon as you coil. There's no indication of anything.
