See and feel the stretch in Springers swing. Stretch that whips.

On the feel good, she is certainly pretty good for a young girl.

Why is the tee so high? What happens to her hands on lower balls?

So Cal
She's definitely on a path to improvement. I would like to see a little better separation and some overlap. I do like her quickness.

We appreciate everyone's feedback. Addressing some questions that were posed and asking a few of my own:

@straightleg - by separation, are you referring to what "stepping away from the hands" more than she is now?

@phreak - you're right, that tee is STILL too far out front. We'll get it deeper next time as well as getting some front pitch vids

@redhotcoach - I think the tee looking high is a bit of an illusion as I was kneeling when I took that, but I see your point. My guess is she would still dip a bit to hit a pitch lower than that

@EricF - Can you describe what you mean by overlap?

@FiveFrameSwing - We've been mainly working on hand path and extension this summer. She still has some work to go on not getting into an arm bar with her front arm, but we're getting there slowly.

fiveframes,

Yes the thighs are part of the lower trunk that leads the way. Athlough there is little stability for the pelvis to load against.. No extension and flex in the back knee.

Yes.

I really don't see her doing any in this swing..

"Overlap" is when you get the upper half and lower half turning in opposite directions - the rear hip firing forward WHILE the hands/shoulders are still going back. This has also been referred to a "X-Factor" (Donny Buster). If the hands are starting forward before toe-touch, there will never be overlap. Getting overlap has the effect of tightening up the top-bottom connection.

Separation leads into overlap.
