llhowser, thanks for the feedback.

If I'm hearing you correctly, it sounds like your saying she needs a more efficient load ... and needs to stay loaded until launch, correct?
I think that is kind of the idea. What I would hope you can see is that there actually isn't a load right now.

I would better describe the current swing as step towards the ball and start to line up to swing and when you stop swing.

The load would mean you are creating both linear forces and rotational speed, power and quickness to the barrel by:

1) Coiling/turning the lower body around the inside lower pelvis joint and having your hands follow

then

2) Striding (which will help start to release the hips) while keeping those hands back

then

3) as you hit toe touch drop that stride energy into the front heel from your back hip uncoiling and turn that barrel to the ball

Bugs bunny in my avatar is an exaggerated coil befor the stride. When bugs strides he should keep his hands back. Hope that helps

Hey everyone, so I thought I'd post a follow up ... DD's swing a year later than the original post.

I'm wondering what kind of improvement you guys are seeing as well as areas that need work.

(Sorry for the video size and the #$!#@& netting, all I had was RVP on my phone this time around. Will get better quality soon.)

Hips and hands go back, hips and hands go forward.
Many posts done on sequence on this forum.

Hips forward, while the hands load back, is a better sequence.

Personally i would get the bustos 3 set dvd's. They go along good with the rvp instructional tape.

Well, it's been a 4 months since I gave a video update of DD and 16 months since my first post in this thread. We did a little tee work today and wanted to get some feedback on her progress from those on here who are smarter than me.

In viewing this, please put it in the context of the other two videos of here in this thread:

Today:

Not sure how to slow the video down for you guys, but you've done this all before!

Thanks for the continued feedback.

I see all back, all forward. Not creating space between hands and back hip.
Think throwing sequence. If they don't separate when they throw, they wont when they hit.
Not creating that space gets the upper body ahead of the lower half.

Look at Rdbass's video below. Does the upper body get ahead of the lower half?
Correction:
Fall out to toe touch as the hands are loaded backwards. Just like throwing

I am giving the same advice as I did in my earlier post

Good Luck

Looks good EXCEPT the tee is still TOO FAR out front. And I believe she deserves more than 8 seconds of video. I like the coil, I like the way the lower half finishes. I like the hand path. In short, I like the swing.

Maybe get the rear knee in a little as she coils. She needs to "rock the U" as she loads. She also needs to turn the barrel "right now" when she starts her swing. Too much bat drag. Get the tee in DEEPER!!!! Let's see some front pitch!
