This is what I was referring to when I brought up the whip hit demo at the clinic, they reinforced pulling it.

Just look at CBs hand position in her video posted above and compare it to her HPP in the gif posted on her a million times, in the gif she's actively turning the barrel, it's on video and its plain as day.

My definition of bat drag is where the top hand is in a pull position. That is when you are truly dragging the bat IMO because both hands are in a pull position. CB's top hand is not in a pull position because her top hand is in front of her rear elbow. Therefore, she maintains lag until she torques the the bat with the wrists. I guess we can agree to disagree.

I will say however that she is exaggerating a point concerning bat lag. My guess is she is exaggerating the point to push forward the important point of a quick and powerful torque.

Ray....where did your reply to me concerning box at contact vs. triangle more upstream in the swing go? Did you take a good look at the swing, think in 3 dimensions, then decide to retract your post?

Addition: I found the post on another thread....MY BAD! Anyway, please see the bold above....Or better yet, post a gif of the point in time you are talking about so I get a better idea of what you are talking about.

Thanks

And as long as you keep making your late wrist release point I will keep disputing it....the release starts when the barrel started to move at the top in the first few frames...not sure why you can't just pick up a bat and swing into a pad/heavy bag and feel the difference instead of insisting that there is a late release....

Ray
That is part of the slow motion matrix drill she shows hitters.
WOW!!! does she have a powerfull wrist release around her front foot:cool:

I ask you...Please pick up a bat. When you swing a hammer you break your wrist to impact the nail.
Turn the hammer sideways and drive a nail into a piece of wood. You drive the nail out in front of you not behind you.
She release's her wrist like driving a nail after bat lag and that point is around her front foot.

We will have to stay disagreed on this point.

SL - I would say to you that you aren't aware of the wrist movement needed to effectively drive a nail into a piece of wood....your wrist and forearm are heavily involved way before the nail is struck....better yet - swing a hammer and try and release it late - meaning hold the wrist firm and then release late.

I am a 25 year union carpenter...I fully understand how to pound nails and when wrist release happens.

Do I need to come to CT and bring my framing hammer, sledge hammer, 2 pnd hammer, roofing hammer, drywall hammer, and trim hammer???
