Looks like Bustos has new video's

The Bustos videos came up in a thread about the Matrix drill a few weeks ago. They were not available at that time. I appreciate Straightleg letting us know that they are now. I will be ordering the video.

The hate and discontent has been minimal here at DFP lately and I have enjoyed that.

Just a FYI
I have met Bustos while I was attending her clinic. She came up to me at the lunch break and sat with my Dd and I.
She asked how we liked the clinic.
Her next question to me was do you see anything we can improve on. What a classy woman.
She was super nice. (Not to mention she is the best female hitter in the world)

After that I made it a point to meet one of her hitting coach's Howard. We are best of friends now.

I dont get anything out of telling you she has videos. I would think allot of what is on there is what I have trained on, with Howard.
I still might buy them just to support her, because I like her, and a refresher to what swing she/I believe in.

She does not know me, unless Howard tells her I am the carpenter that does all the work for him.

My daughter attended a Bustos clinic in Atlanta, GA I found her to be very inspirational down to earth and she gave so much good advice it was difficult to absorb all the information.

She sat and talked to my daughter and myself for a good while.

Howard is my hero, one of the nicest guys who really under stands the hitting process.

I plan on purchasing the videos and sending them to daughter in college. It never hurts to have a review.

I liked the idea of just buying it to support her!!! I really think it would be a must have for all hitting coaches.. and great investment as a library resource, and will be a for sure collectors item...

I haven't been to a clinic, or seen anything from her, other than the Gold Metal video games on Y-tube. But I do know a couple that take their DD half way across the state for lessons NOW... They LOVE her, and say the same things you do & say their DD absolutely worships her...even though she has to do a few pushups here and there....lol Says she even calls their DD once in a while too!!!Scarey because their DD is awesome now, without the direction of this Superpower ... :{))

After reading these posts, I looked up the Bustos dvd series... $125 bucks seems a little salty for 3 videos, but like nano said " its about getting our dd's to the next level" (paraphrasing) and thats why Im here. Anyway, I chewed on it for a few days weather I wanted to drop over a hundy on some videos or not. So after getting thoroughly confused reading the snf posts by those here and on HI with TM, I decided this morning to buy the set.... CRAP!!! Sold out! I guess that what I get for waiting.

I had to pass on that price I wish Netflix had them!

git the 7 steps video and watche dit last night. went to the cages today and tried adding the chnages from the3 video to DD's swing 9whihc has been off lately). sShe looks to be strting to incorporate the moves in the video but missed pretty much every pitch by swinging unde rit. Finaly at the end she started to get the ball out in front of the plate and had one reall nice line drive.

we will continue working on the swing.

Coach I will say this and let it be, I too am thoroughly confused by snf, not really I do get it, just am not necessarily sure that is the best way to teach, however I have been in the HC/CB camp as referred to for a while, and one of the things that appeals to me the most and my students is that neither of them try to over complicate this process as many here do, I reviewed the DVDs this weekend you will gain something out of it I am sure. you wont hear a lot about ir/er but what you will hear is a common sense well established approach to teaching and understanding how to teach hitting to young ladies who aspire to take their swings o their maximum potential. I put my daughter through D1 college with what I learned from these people, and I have many more who are in college playing now, and boat load of kids coming up, I am not a guru, but I do believe through Howard and Crystal and others I have gained the knowedge to effectively teach kids to hit who will work at it, there are no short cuts it takes work. I dont discount what others teach or how they teach, but I know this works, thats all I will say, it may not be the only way but it does work!

Make sure her elbows are starting at the top of the strike zone, also when she turns the box, again make sure the front side elbow is at the top of the zone, another thing if she popping up or swinging under check her stride if it is too long her back leg may be collapsing causing her to dump the barrel too much too early, just a couple of things to look at.

I purchased the Freak series. I have watched the "Seven Steps of Hitting", and the "Fix It". I am about 1/2 through "Workout Skills and Drills". If it is one thing I have learned it is to compare what is said with video of what actually happens. Unless Bustos actually swings her bat in the last 1/2 of "Workout Skills and Drills", I haven't seen any live swings in any of the 3 DVDs. The only live swing I have of Bustos is this gif:



I was hoping to see many live swings in at least one of these DVDs.

One thing I noticed right away comparing the above swing to the instruction in the DVD, is her "Building the Roof" comentary and how high her hand positioning is compared to this live swing.
