Here is my 14 year old DD Twin 2. Let me know what you guys think - it's good for these girls to hear things from somebody else! I appreciate the comments and suggestions in advance!!

Pretty good lower body on both of them.

Need to get the barrel turned into (behind) the rear hip. With the current set up the barrel is being turned around the hip and getting out front too quickly.

Toss the balls deeper at the back hip and see if they can figure it out with a tipped barrel position to start....like this (although the clip starts a little later then I want to show)

Not positive what you mean - you know we have 47 different terms for the same movement on here!! ;) The way I understand what you're saying is it needs to be a little more of hips first, then hands - is that right? If that's it, it's hard to get our batters to do it in a drill - hips start - pause - hands thru - and then explain to them that it's only a fraction of a second. Or are we talking simply making an adjustment of the bat during initial bat tilt?

Hi Big Dave,

Leave her lower half alone - don't mention hips to them.

I am recommending working on movements and not positions.

If they both start with the bat tipped towards the 2nd baseman (more like in that direction but higher) and start the swing by turning the bat in the opposite direction. Don't try and pull the hands back - just turn it back - or pull it back with the top hand only.

Let it fly from there.

I see a flat bat that swings circular. In and out of the zone very quickly.
Maybe RDbass can put her bat path along side a bat path that is being pulled/whipped through more linear.

Another way to think about it is create a nike swoosh kind of barrel path

On a diagonal just like the logo looks

To get into that nike path the barrel will have to turned back from the tipped position. Does that make sense to you?

And to turn the barrel back, she will have to stop doing what SL is seeing...rotating her shoulders in a circle ahead of the rest of her.

Something I see in both of them - their front arm seems to straighten out a bit at the start of the swing. The result of that is the circular bat path, correct? If so, maybe work some one arm drills? They seem to both lose the arm box/ front elbow bend a little.

Nahhh....work the barrel as I said - the front arm will take of itself....

Give it a try - let them both cut it loose so to speak.....
