    Default 13yo DD in cage - Constructive critism needed.

    Here is a short video of my 13yo DD in a cage last month. I'm looking for your opinions and suggestions on things that look good and things that need attention.

    Thanks!

    At 05 sec mark does your DD do that move with the front foot/leg on all her swings?
    Tying the hands to the shoulder turn is not going to cut it.

    I like A LOT of the things she does. The one ting I would focus heavily on is the lower down correctly. IMO when she get's that she could be a GREAT hitter. I really like her upper half and hands

    I thinks she just needs a small amount of sequence adjustment.
    Alittle more seperation from her hands and back hip as she steps out. I dont see any/ or there is very little of it. She sways back together/upper and lower half.

    The right way... happens like when you throw, hips forward/hands back

    She's having the typical adjustment problems off the machine...set up a screen and do underhand front-toss from 15-20 feet and then work on what is mentioned above.

    Yes she does. It is what our coach wants for a "trigger". Some of his students do a Texas Pivot, others lift the leg off the ground. I wanted my DD to use the trigger, but try to stay balanced also. So sometimes she will do a slight tap with her toe to start the trigger sequence.

    Thanks for the help, but I think you lost me at separation....

    Can you elaborate more on what you saw?

    She looks good off the machine, but I would address the slowed down frames in the clip below...

    Instead of turning the barrel into the ball - she levels her hands to height of the pitch (which to her advantage is above the belt) and then pulls the bat around....

    Read turning the barrel threads on this board....

    The movements are pretty good, but out of sequence. Her hands move toward the ball with, or slightly before her back hip turns. The hips must go first, while the hands stay back. That is what many here, call "separation."

    Look how far ahead of hand movement, Albert's hips are;

    Was looking for Pujols but, found this gif look at the hips and the front leg/foot. Do you see any differences?
