Question Using a yardstick for working on swing mechanics

I tried using a yardstick a couple of winters back for working on swing mechanics in front of a mirror (hey I was in my bedroom and it was handy ). I found it helped in keeping the palm up/palm down position at (imaginary) contact and I could really feel the yardstick cutting through the air.

Has anyone else tried this? If not give it a try (watch the lamps though ) and let me know what you think of it as a training aid.

We use the mirror, but us a broom. One side of the broom is red. You can then see if you roll your wrists.

It is important to have fast trunk or core rotation during bat swings so using a light material like a yard stick will help focus on the core movement while still mimicking the movement of a regular bat swing.
