Ok! Had the final soccer tournament this weekend, which means we're moving on to pre-season softball mode!!

Got in our first swings in months the other day, and I captured a couple on the old iPhone. She's young (7), and we have plenty to work on, but I don't like to throw too much at her at once. After viewing the clip below (hopefully it works), what would be the number one thing you would point to as needing to be addressed sooner than later?

Thanks for your input!

And yes....she's wearing a mouth guard! Got a new one right before this weekends soccer tournament, and she insisted on "breaking it in!" Lol

So Cal
At 7yo, I wouldn't do a lot more than just encourage her to take lots and lots of swings. If you can work in a good dose of front toss on a regular basis, even better.

Based on this one swing, if I was going to make any correction at this point, it would be to get the front leg straightening properly so she is hitting against a firm front side, rather than over a soft front side.

Ya, I noticed that front leg. I just wanted her to get some hacks in without annoying her on the 1st day back!

Thanks!

I'm with this guy ^^^

Swing a ton and have fun! Get her comfortable and consistent with hitting a moving ball.....

Absolutely! We've been having a blast. Our league does pitching machine for U9. She did great last year, and was very consistent (on base about 70% of the time.) Just need to work on getting a little more power in her swing this year, as she's one of the smallest out there!

The other great thing is that it'll be my son's first year in tee-ball come spring. As frustrating as tee-ball is, it'll be fun. And somehow, he's a lefty....

Machine pitch leagues make me sad...:(
