There are others on DFP much more technical who can break down her swing. From what I see, she seems uncomfortable in the 10U swing, not fluid.

She has a hitch in the middle of the clip as her weight starts to come forward, but then she just stops and pivots with her weight on the back. If her coach is teaching her to "squish the bug", that is not something you'll ever find recommended on DFP.

The 8U had more arms than using legs, but that's not uncommon at that age. She seems much more comfortable and at least her weight came forward more vs back.

So Cal
Both swings have significant areas that could be improved, and picking "better" between the two isn't really a productive direction (IMO).

Her more recent swing is lacking weight transfer, separation/stretch, correct hand use, and a proper sequence of movement. It's a simple spin with the bat swinging around the spine.

A number of people have gotten a better understanding of some of the concepts of a good swing with this...

She doesn't seem to be powering through the ball and extending her hands. You can definitely see that in the first 8U clip. Even in the 10U clip it doesn't seem like she is generating much bat speed.

Thanks for the video and advice. Looks likes we got work to do. Hitting practice has taken a back seat for a year
because we have focused on pitching but time to start swinging the bat
