I am looking to get a tee that is other than the common black tee that is sold at most sports stores.

*Which tee do you have? Reviews, pros/cons?

*Which tee do you recommend? Why?

I have an 11 year old and an 8 year old that plays travel ball. I also help with a 10u rec team.

I have looked at the Tanner tees as well as the Atec tees. They seem to be very similar.

The Atec T3 is almost identical yet $20 more unless you spend the extra money on the Tanner weight with the Tanner Tee. The difference is that Tanner was the original version and their ball settee is still hand wrapped. The other Atec model which is similar has a rubberized cup which just isn't quite as durable.

I have a GTee that I won in a raffle that is several years old with very little signs of wear. That said, it's hard to beat a Tanner tee.

Tanner and G-Tee are comparable. Both are high quality that will last. Do not but one that looks like a home plate at its base. This sends a message that balls should be hit there... WRONG. Hit the dead red pitch in front of the plate. Be sure to also buy a throw down plate and then move the tee around to simulate different pitch locations.

I have built a couple tees that look like tanners following the instructions found online. It cost about $30 to make one tee, and you have enough excess material that you just need to buy another topper for a 2nd tee. That said, I use my portable tee 75% of the time. Can't remember the name, but it is a bownet knock off (I heard bownet let all their patents expire and now you can find knock off brands of everything they make).
