I didn't read anything about slow pitch. Swinging down to the ball cue is causing a number of our hitters to miss hit the ball imo. The same girls were hitting great against better pitching in the spring travel season, and we weren't teaching to swing down through the ball. Since they've been with the HS coach, he's been over loading them with swing down cues. I was looking at credible info to support a debate with him when I ran across a major league guru who alluded to the fact that down and through was appropriate as girls begin seeing the riseball.

Are you going to teach a swing that is down through contact just so you can hit a pitch that is not even a strike?

even if you swing down on the rise, is your plan to hit it down?

i like the link above thanks.

I liked the link and the body, but a comment posted from what I believed to be the author suggested that a down and through method is appropriate when girls begin facing riseballs. I assume based on your questions that you do not advocate down to the ball cues no matter what?

I'm fine with a swing down, throw down, reference mindset.

From the RVP-Connection-Point position it can feel as if the top hand is going down to, and leveling off through.
