She's reaching, trying to make contact too far in front - any recommendations on how to keep her tighter before contact and then follow thru extension?
actually- if one of you video guys could slow this down it would be great!
thanks!!

I am sure one of the "gif masters" will help you out soon. But I am going to guess that what the gif will show is that her hands initially drop and allow the barrel to drop behind her instead of turning it around a tight hand pivot point. By behind her, I mean that the knob of the bat will be pointing at the camera, and the end of the barrel will be pointing at the power outlet on the wall behind her. I think if you can get her to start with the barrel more vertical, she will improve rapidly. Overall, there are many things she does well, so try not to change too much. She looks very strong. Good luck!

sorry about clarity, for some reason it would only let me download at a low resolution.

Pretty nice obbay, Do you think the arms become overactive? Some resistance between the shoulders may help control the arms.
Tell Her to push that "A" on the back of Her shirt through the front of Her chest using Her shoulder blade as Her rear leg pulls forward. . Tell Her to keep Her rear elbow up and resist that action as long as She can while doing it.

I would add in a tip and rip. Her bat head starts too flat - so while she does get some pretty decent bat speed - it takes too long to develop and thus the need to hit out front. This decreases her read time since she has to start earlier to hit out front.

The bat head going from tipped to untipped just before the hands start to come forward should produce a nice effect of the bat head loading as direction is being determined.

EDIT - she has to unload the barrel immediately.

There is no harm in the bat head getting below the swing plane as Pujols is showing here - this is what loads the barrel as it is coming around.

Of course - I also recommend some core work to improve her ability to brace up (prevent sway) as she approaches contact so that she is hitting the ball with her whole body and not just her arms.

Not here.

Your DD is reaching out with her front leg/foot. The rear leg should be 'in charge' of the stride foot/leg.
Also appears your DD has a body level/leveling to the ball swing. I'm basing that thought off of seeing your DD's bent front knee.
Lets get your DD using her hands/arms to 'turn the barrel to the ball'.

Lets get that bat more vertical during the swing. I would like to see better hand usage/turn the barrel to the ball RRIGHTNOW.

I'm going to suggest that the bat speed going into the 'along' is less than ideal because the 'around' wasn't sufficient.

As you watch the video below pay specific attention to the bat head as she slots.

You might be saying .... what is there to see about the bat head? And that's the point ... the barrel isn't being worked ... it isn't being sent into its swing arc ... it isn't getting up to speed.

Obbay...great advice here...my 2 cents as to how I would try to teach the corrections already noted into her swing...

Start from the ground up...get her to coil!

She needs to not be so linear in her move out to the ball. IMO her move out with her front leg RDB notes it as "reaching out" is perfect but what causes this? To me it's because she never coils into her rear side and that right there infects the rest of the sequence. This is a partial gif I made of Hailey Decker her thread is here: http://www.discussfastpitch.com/softball-hitting-technical/21889-hailey-decker-nebraska-transfer-oregon.html

Watch the hip coil on this hitter from Georgia:

If you the coil into the rear hip doesn't happen, the core has zero chance of being recruited. No core means inconsistent sequence.

My 2 cents...CP
