Moved this discussion here because it was way off-topic for Turning the Barrel, but an interesting topic on its own.
Baseball: wood bats, orange-sized white ball traveling at speeds over 100 MPH. The lightest bat I know of in professional ball is a -3. That's on the light side.
Softball: Aluminum bats, grapefruit-sized yellow ball traveling at speeds between 65 and 70 MPH from 46 feet away. Lightest bat I know of is a -12. In baseball, that's a little league bat.
Give Bonds or Kemp a week to adjust to softball pitching. The pitcher would need body armor.
Never? You have been with him every time he has taught hitting or talked about hitting? In these videos he doesn't say it but he sure demos it.
I am pretty sure no college girls swinging -12 bats. Speaking of body armor, baseball home run king looked like Lancelot at the plate with all his armor. No fear of getting hit vs the old days.
I do get the point - but a better comparison would have been Verlander to Lawrie....90 in baseball is fast but closer to average....how many times are you seeing 68-70 in fastpitch in college, let alone highschool....plus you have a bigger target to hit in fastpitch....and the ball is yellow....lol
Softball: Hottest bats on the planet with a giant sweet spot. Baseball: No hot bats and small sweet spot.

the ball is a whole lot hotter in baseball then softball. And the last time I checked there are $400 dollar baseball bats, and its not because they are not better.
