What is yours?

Im doing away with one knee drill and wrist snaps.

I will do standing face to face ten feet away work on top shelf throws and then switch to regular throws. focus on hips and torso rotation.

I will move back a few feet add a shuffle and have glove and ball married at the chest, break hands high as the receiver steps into the catch with the left foot and gets in same position. Then backs up and repeats.

Back it up again and add some distance throwing. Shuffle shuffle throw...don't break hands and hold. Break hands right before left foot hits. ( righty's)

Come together with quick hands and quick transfers steeping in with left foot and breaking hands high

I started using a couple of Wasserman's throwing drills about mid-season HS this past year. Visible improvement by end of year. Since then I finally bought his e-book. I can't wait to get started with the kids. On top of all that we received permission sometime back from the softball authorities to use tennis balls in pre-season (without gloves or bats) and still be in compliance.

I am very familiar with his work, But I think it would be very hard to incorporate his drills in a Every game/every practice setting. What drills would you use in a throwing ROUTINE?

I also really agree with his point of view regarding wrist flicks!

The drills we started using about halfway through this past season was the one where both feet are pointed forward (similar to the wrist flick drill) and we had them put the ball behind their heads and throw from there. We used that drill in place of the wrist flick drill. Starting with the feet and body in the same position as the wrist flick drill helped me talk the HC into it. We saw good improvement almost within the first few days and much improvement by the end of the season.

I also used the water bottle 1/3 full on one or two players but they didn't buy into it very well. With the e-book instructions I believe I'll be able to present it better this year.

Don't even try Mr. D. Some people live in their own world with an alternative reality choosing to remain blissfully ignorant on a wide range of topics.

I know now, I have read some of the previous comments! WOW! Im not so sure that OILF isn't pulling the wool over our eyes! Thus we are discussing throwing and OILF acts as if arm slot doesn't exist? I was confused for a moment! I wont engage!

Thank you!
