This is my 12 year old DD's first year playing travel where all the girls are first year travel players. Her primary position is SS. Per her coach, she's has a great arm and glove, soft hands, and great awareness on the field.
We had a scrimmage game last weekend where his only critique was that he wanted her talking and communicating with every pitch. She had another game today where she really concentrated on communicating something on every pitch (mainly the outs). Her coach gave her the same comment after today's game, he wants her talking more.
She came to me asking what she should be calling out. I gave up coaching on the rec level and not sure what to tell her.
Looking for suggestions. I know the coach is looking for her to take more of a lead defensive role.
Any help would be appreciated.
