Time for a new bat for my 13 yo power hitter.Indecisive on which one to go with.Heard good about the older RTs not sure on how the latest models perform.Have heard good about the CF4s also.Finding it hard to decide what to spend $250+ on because it seems it just depends on who you ask , and whatever they are using is THE BEST!!Your advice, opinions appreciated.

If she plays on a competitive softball team, chances are she would have 8 different bats to "Demo".

Every bat feels a little different.
My daughter has always swung Eastons - 1B, 2B, 4B, 7B, 8B -The 4B is her current gamer and most cherished, never liked the Demarini's.

I have put CF3 / CF4's in some of her teammates hands and they liked them, my daughter hated them.

The bat mfg opinions are like cars - some people swear by Ford, hate Chevy, will only by German, stay clear of Toyota - ask 100 poeple, get 100 different answers.

Long story short - have your daughter swing some of her friends sticks to see what feels good, this way you are spending your $250+ on something she will be sure to love!

I don't know enough about the RT except that it is quite end loaded and takes a very connected swing to be able to handle properly. I think poeple like to brag that their DD swings a RT - to each his own.

Good luck, and don't be afraid to look at something used. Pre-ABI changes mean "hotter" sticks that post-ABI.

I know that you are comparing 2 end loaded bats. I have owned many RTs. I currently have a 30 and a 31 inch 2005, that I am waiting for the right time to put on eBay. Anderson's customer support is excellent.

The RT, new is $50.00 cheaper than the Insane. I would love a chance to swing an Insane just to see how different it is from the RT. Site unseen, I would stick to the RT. I know it is good.

Not all CF4's are end loaded. To my knowledge, only the CF4 insane is end loaded, the normal one is balanced and comes in a variety of weights from -8 to -10.

The RT is indeed end loaded, and at -8, it takes a fairly stout kid to swing it properly, but since your kid is a powerhitter it may not be a problem for her, especially if she's already used to end loaded bats.

The good news is that Dimarini has many demo centers, where you can check out a bat for a week or so to try it out (this will allow you to take turns trying out the different weights or the end loaded version of the CF4). There are tons of rocketechs around and I'd be surprised if your daughter didn't already have one available to her from a teammate. Honestly I think the RT's are more mystique then science from the old banned-RT days, but they're still a solid bat. I like the nanotech's much better from Anderson, but they are balanced not end loaded.

Is it a big adjustment going from a balanced bat to the end loaded..My DD has always had -10 balanced Easton bats and she tried a team mates Combat in the cages and liked the heavier feel even though I think it was a 31 21 also.DD turns 13 in May and is 5ft6in. and weighs 135 lbs so Im thinking 33 with a 10 drop.

If your daughter has been swinging a balanced bat and has had success why change now?

IMO - if she has not swung an end-loaded bat before, I would be certain to test one out before buying.

There are plenty of balanced bats that have great pop.

RTs are a -9 drop. If you're buying new, Anderson has a 30 day money back guarantee.

there are two CF4s this year, the insane one is end-loaded.

if DD has been using balanced bat with -10 drop, going to an end loaded with a -9 drop may not work for her.

I agree.

RocketTech is a great bat... if she can swing it. They are called -9 but are actualy more like -6, and end loaded. I don't know about the Insane except they call it -9 and end loaded, but I wouldn't buy either one without trying it 1st. In general, power hitters do use an end loaded, heavier bat, as long as it does not upset their swing.

had my daughter hit balls off the tee using a rocketech and a CF4 insane. then i measured the exit speeds using my radar gun. the insane had slightly greater exit speed. the insane is also much easier to swing and causes fewer mishits. the insane is unique in that it swings like an end-loaded bat, but it's a -10 drop weight.

bottom line. the cf4 insane is a winner.
