DD currently crushing it with an end loaded -10. Time for a new bat and I was wondering what the difference is, pros, cons, etc. between that and a balanced -9 or even -8 bat? She has the strength and power to swing either of the heavier ones.

Most -10 bats are not end loaded, they are balanced. Not all bats are built the same, so I would suggest letting your DD take some practice swings with each model/weight before deciding. I would also point out that a lot of girls can swing end loaded bats against average pitching, but struggle with them against faster pitching. I also know a lot of girls who can hit home runs with a 32/22 or 33/23, so you do not need an end loaded bat to hit bombs. Avoid the temptation to put "too much bat" in your DD's hands for daddy bragging rights.....

She is already swinging an end loaded Demarini insane 33/23. It is definitely end loaded. I'm not after bragging rights, I just want to know how a balanced, heavier bat is different. Yes, we can always go to the store and swing the bats. That's not going to be the same as swinging in a game. Also, she is already hitting well against faster pitchers, both in HS and travel ball. I'm not putting pressure on her. She currently leads the team in homeruns, slugging pct, and RBI's. If I were after bragging rights they're already there. Not my reason for asking, it's just time for a new bat.

If my kid was leading both of her teams in all those categories, I would buy the exact same bat. ;)

If it ain't broke....
Moving into a heavier bat after she's proven to be plenty effective with what she currently has, why would you mess with that?

My dd swung a 33/-9 for a couple years. We moved to a 34/-10 and she's just as happy, the extra inch gets more barrel on outside balls.

My DD has never used a Demarini, but it would be interesting to find the balance point of the end loaded 33/23 and compare it to a -10 Xeno, 2Legit and other bats. If the bat is truly end loaded the balance point will be further down the barrel.

I was wondering about a change because I don't know what bat would be available should she decide to continue playing in college. The Demarini, to me, feels like a true end load while some other bats I've held which are sold as end loaded don't feel like it.

DD Swings both a CF6 Insane in 33/23 and a -9 Mizuno Whiteout 33/24. (Swung a Mako last year in 33/23)

I thought she would have more of an issue with the -9, but she said the bat feels smoother and she's been hitting harder line drives with the balanced -9, vs the "end loaded" -10. It will probably differ by brand and the player swinging the bat however.

IMO no real pros, cons, or even standards. We have the same size Insane. We have a few "balanced" Eastons in that size (scn4 srv4) that definately feel heavier and as end loaded as the Insane. Then dd's go to is a 33/24 lxt, it doesn't feel as endloaded or feel the weight of the Insane.
They used to say power hitters use enloaded or heavy bats. Watch the college games, there are more big hitters using 33/23 or 34/24 balanced bats than endloaded or -8 bats. Just a matter of preference imo.
