I bought one for my DD, 32/22. Hitting nothing but regulation softballs in a heated indoor facility, front toss and tee work, she broke it in about a week. There was a crack right over the USSSA thumbprint. I sent it back to Miken with a note asking for a replacement with warranty to replace it and got a new one in just a couple days. No hassle at all. It's got a warranty. She hasn't taken it out of the wrapper yet since she's been too busy with HS tryouts to fool around with something new. I can say, the bat did seem very hot from the start. She said it felt like the CF6 Sprite that she killed last year. Depending on the reliability, I think it's going to be a popular bat.
My daughter went from a Miken to an LxT and loves the LXT way more and it seems to have more pop. To be fair, it wasn't the Freak Black so it's not an apples to apples. The Freak would have to be a major step up from the Chill, Rev-X line.
I was a bit confused because some sites are listing a 2015 & 2016 model and not knowing much about this bat I assumed they were two different bats. After consulting Miken it was explained to me some sites are calling them 2015 & some 2016 but the fact is last years model of the Miken was the chill and this years model is the Freak Black which i was told is an upgrade from the chill with durability issues being addressed. In case anyone else was confused....there you go. Now i got to decide if I want the Freak Black or the LXT...
