I have a teammate who has asked me for a non-composit or half/half bat. He specifically asked me for a -11 bat 31/20. I'm having a really hard time finding a bat. I think Vendettas makes a drop -11 but other then that I don't see much available. I'm looking for high grade alloy bats similar to Rip-It's or Anderson's but I didn't see any drop -11 from them.

So Cal
Demarini Vendetta is all-composite, and is -12.

One to look at might be the Combat Lisa Fernandez (LFFP6, Comp handle/alloy barrel). It's marked as -12, but my DD's 30/18 weighed in at 19.2. These can frequently be found for pretty cheap on eBay.

They all pretty much suck when measured against a good composite bat.

If expense is the concern, have him look at used composite bats. If cold weather is a concern (which shouldn't be down here), then he can look at one-piece composites.

There are even good deals on 2014 premium models NIW for around $149.

He wants it for batting practice and since we are in rec 10U and our league uses soft core softballs they don't have the same pop off of composit bats. DD has been using full composit bats since 6U but that is because I can usually find them for less then $40. Right now DD has a Combat Lisa that I got brand new on eBay for $18 free shipping. I'm trying to convince him that his CF5 is good enough but he is squeamish about his DD using it in the cages.

DD also has a Rip-It Prototype that I picked up for a teammate who changed their mind. Man that bat has awsome pop, it's DD's favorite bat. You can really tell the difference during practice and since the Rip-It is an alloy bat I think it caught his eye.

DD has 7 bats but we are phasing out of the 30 inch bats and moving into 31 inch bats. I'm sorry but when bats get discontinued and hit the interweb at a fraction of its MSRP I just cant help buy them. I usually pass the savings to fellow teammates, it's made me really popular at the field but now I'm known as the bat guy and people keep putting in orders, lol

For batting practice, who cares about a little difference in pop? Pop is for game day. If you are facing hard, dimpled, machine-pitched balls in the cages, leave the CF5 in the bag.
