My daughter really likes the tater grip. I've put several of them on her various bats over the years. The problem is that half the time I accidentally rip it during installation and have to order another one. Last night I diid it again. Looked like it was going on easy for once and then I must have made one mistake and that was all it took. Anyone else have similar issues, or am I just the world's worst grip installer? I even watch the instructional video prior to every attempt. Over the last 3 years I have installed 4 grips but I've ripped at least that many. Makes the whole tater grip experience even more expensive than it already is.

We didn't have any problems but I only installed 2 of them. DD seems to like the Lizard grip just as well and they are a bit cheaper.

I've installed several and never had one tear. Once I get it started over the knob of the bat, I try to push it down even where the part not on the bat yet stays centered over the knob. You may be stressing one side of the grip too much. Just a thought. I also dry the outside of the grip with a hand towell before installation, it makes it easier to manipulate and keep the grip going on even.

Never felt a tater grip...but looks like it just takes a little patience to work it over the knob of the bat the whole way down the grip. I could see for that price that wrecking a few would be very pricey
