Breaking in a new composite bat?

No need really, both my DDs swing CF5s and I haven't noticed any break in, they were as hot out of the wrapper as they are today.
I like to hit the bat with a rubber mallot evenly all over the barrel.
The new bats do not need a break in. Probably swinging it more, is reducing the life of a bat.
What makes you think ASA compares test results between different bats?
I was curious about said test also
ASA's certification process does test bats right out of the wrapper. They progressively employ ABI on each subsequent round of testing until the bat breaks.
I haven't seen or heard about anyone's actual test results (i.e. MPH), so I believe they are confidential.
What was implied in the post was that ASA does a hotest bat test...which they do not. They test for their own standards is all. All they care is that the bat complies and stays that way, not which bat is .02 better on the comp machine than the other bat when it starts.
