Yep. She is old enough and big enough that a -10 is the place to start. I wouldn't poo-poo a select few -9s, either.

Swing as many as she can, hit with them if possible. A favorite will emerge if she gives a few a good session or two with real softballs.

CF5. 33" -10 on closeoutbats.com for $199 right now.
I bought the brand new 2Legit, neon orange, Worth four piece bat (FPLGC 33, -10). It's $300 everywhere except on eBay. I found one listed at $250 that is new in wrapper. So I made an offer of $225 and it was accepted. Sweet! Should be here tomorrow or Sat.

My DD has had great luck with Easton bats and I have had great experiences with their customer service/warranty. Once you figure out which bat she likes (and I think the only way is to swing a bunch of them) look on eBay. If you are patient you can get a brand new bat in the wrapper with a warranty for a great price. Make sure that they say in the description that they are an authorized dealer with a valid warranty receipt. In December I got an Easton FS1 (33/23) on eBay - retails for $200 - $250 and I got it for $99 with free shipping...
