Just got a couple Boombah fielders masks. One adult and one child.

Pros:
Light weight 8.1oz
Good looks
Custom colors for mask, padding and straps

Cons:
Material seems a little flimsy, especially vs the current rip-it. Easy to bend with my hands
Paint has significant chips from one game of use. I wasn't there so Idk how hard on it she was, dropping etc.
A little tight in the temple area but was easy to stretch wider. See above. I did this with a ripit as well so the bending isn't a big deal. But there is a definite difference in effort required to bend it.
Straps would not stay tight and even came loose several times.

The adult size was too big on my almost 12yo dd. The bars were very close to her nose and would not be much protection IMO.

Both masks in the pics are youth size.

Thanks for the review.

Most of the infield girls on my 9yo DD's 10U rec team are wearing masks. My 15yo DD, however, refuses.

Boombah makes decent uniforms, but my experience with their line of cleats was horrible and their stab at bats was a bust... I'll be sticking with our rip it masks

Mine has a Schutt titanium mask. I bought it for her before I'd ever seen the masks in use. Somebody told us she needed one so I went online and did my research. I picked what seemed the best at the time. Then, she shows up to play and everybody else has the RipIT model. From a pure protection perspective, the Schutt seems to be superior. She only wears it when she plays a corner, which is very rare. Usually, she's strapped up with the tools of ignorance instead.

If your DD is not concerned with looking exactly like every other player on the field, give the Schutt a look.

My younger sister has been using the Rip-It one with blackout technology and she loves it. Definitely really well made and will last for a good amount of time. Most of her teammates that use a pitchers helmet or fielders mask have a Rip-It one which is why we she went with it in the first place. Her coach recommended my parents to read some info on them and they found this article to be the most helpful http://www.pitchershelmet.com/pitchers-helmets-101/what-are-they/ It's definitely important to know what is best for protection but also allow the player to try it for a bit to see if it works well for them. Being able to play normally with one on is extremely important.
