Our TB program just got a sponsorship from Louisville Slugger. This is huge for our club. I just found out we will be getting 14 bats--all 2014 Xeno's and LXT's--to use at our next tournament. Plus we get a nice discount on all LS products (including baseball). We are so excited! Thank you, Louisville Slugger!!

Well it is a good thing they are going to give the program 14 bats. You will need them, with all the quality issues Louisville Sluggers have. Good chance you will be out of bats before half way thru the season. I have to ask, why sign up for this, most girls have their own bats and there are several bats a lot better then what LS makes. What about the girl that has a CF6, rockettech or Easton bat, she can't use it, these bats are a lot better then LS. Good luck!!!!

Does this sponsorship have strings attached?
Are the kids allowed to use any products other than LS?
While I'm sure the bats are greatly appreciated, I would rather have gotten uniforms, bat bags, and batting gloves for my team.

I absolutely agree with this. Every girl on my team has their own bat already. Try telling my DD she can't use her Anderson RF (if that's the case with this sponsorship) and she would move on to a different team. Girls and their relationship with their favorite bats are funny that way. Plus the significant cost of uniforms, which the girls more than likely won't have already would help the team out far better than bats IMO.

That being said, Congratulations! Any sponsorship, no matter how the company goes about it, is always welcome news to a team/organization.

There are no restrictions on what other bats we use. There are some things we are buying at a discount as a team that are non-negotiable, but that's already in our budget (main thing being new bat bags and batting gloves). According to the HC, we get 30-40% off everything LS offers, including their baseball line. I guess that's a good deal, and is similar to what many colleges get.

Congrats. That is quite an accomplishment for so young a team to secure a sponsorship from a major equipment company like Louisville Slugger. The discounts will help your families and the bats are fantastic (although I realize many folks have had issues with them and will rightfully voice their displeasure).

One good thing is that LS will take care of their sponsored teams quickly if there are issues. They may even waive the "one replacement per year" rule for you, as well. Hopefully the new 2014 Xeno and LXT have solved some of the issues their predecessors exhibited.

Thanks, LAS. They sponsored our organization, not just our team. We have 2 14U, 2 12U, and a 10U program. One of our 14U coaches is a sponsorship guru and he's the one who made the deal. So our little first year 12U team gets rewarded for his hard work. :) I just bought DD a new bat a couple of months ago (Combat), so I doubt I will shell out more $$ for a Xeno or LXT, but I know there are a lot of girls in our program who will definitely take advantage of, and benefit from, using those bats.

Truth be told, I am one who has been leery of the Xeno because of perceived durability issues. I guess this is an opportunity to be convinced otherwise.

My DD nicknames all of her bats and would beat you with it if you tried to take it away from her.

One girl on my team was told by an umpire she couldn't use her bat due to a very small rattle (I couldn't always hear it). I thought I was going to have call the United Nations to send over peacekeepers due to the ensuing argument
