Does anyone know the name of a water filled heavy softball used for hitting?

I love those things! As Greenmonsters said, you want the regular size, not the larger Atomic ones. I couldn't get a search for TCB to work, but a search on TOTAL CONTROL gave me back several of the threads discussing them (just scan the returned items for ones with TCB in the topic).

Eastbay has an offer for free shipping on orders over $75 right now. So you can get a dozen from them for $99.99. They (and others) will also sell you a half-dozen. Eastbay's price for that is $59.99, plus whatever the shipping charge will be. Total Control itself and Hitting World offer the same prices on a dozen and half-dozen, but they don't have any free shipping offers. They give resistance (without shocking the joints). So you can hit them as hard as you want. If you don't make solid contact they spin around like a wounded bird.

What I like the most about them is the small area you can practice in. They don't go but about 30-40 feet with a well-hit ball by a HS age player. We've even hit them in our weight room.

They cost too much is the only complaint I have. And I lost one to damage this week. If they cost less more people would buy them I'm sure. Then it would benefit more kids, but it's not all about the kids for everyone.

They give great feedback to the girls. If a girl doesn't get her bat right on the center of the ball, it just flops and dies. And if she doesn't power through her swing, the TCB isn't going to go anywhere. They figure out pretty quickly that they have to make good contact and follow through strong. All the girls on DD's 12U team knew that a 20-30 foot drive of a TCB was the equivalent of a nice big hit to the outfield. IMO it's actually more difficult to accomplish because all the energy has to come from the batter.

They're wonderful for small areas. I have some and we've used them a lot in our front yard, though as she grows, it's getting harder to keep them from going into the street. Her teams have used them a lot for warmups at tournaments. They are great for that.

Spend the extra 15 bucks on shipping and order from someone who has them in stock. Ordered a dozen June 6th, and I finally cancelled order yesterday. After giving me two different ship dates, Eastbay blamed Total Control for not shipping to them.
