    Default Finch Windmill?

We are discussing purchasing one for the family. My daughter pitches. My son pitches. I play ball. Wife would maybe enjoy using it as well.

Anyone have one? Do you feel it was a good investment. They are pricey, and currently, I'm not seeing any used ones on the market.

We primarily want to get one to help our daughter increase pitch speed. She is petite, and any edge she can get would be beneficial. Of course, keeping a balanced skeletal system would be a great perk !

    Thanks!

What does her pitching coach think about them?

You can buy those stretchy bands that help with all of that for around $30 dollars. You can make them for aroun 10.

For the ease of having a mounted system and for the intended purpose we love the windmill. Daughter has had great strength gains using it as instructed.

Personally, I think you're much better off with a few different types of bands that you can use for lots of different types of exercises. Even though the Finch Windmill site mentions that it can help correct arm imbalances, it's still only capable of working the upper body in a very specific way. Bands are cheaper and the variety of exercises you an do with them will be much more beneficial to the whole body in the long run. Performbetter.com has lots. I like the Gray Cook band and the mini bands.

    Thank you all.

Her pitching coach is friends with Jennie, so of course she is going to support it. But I was looking to get some more real world feedback from a group that I have come to value their opinions. Her own coach has one for his daughter and they enjoy it, and it has worked well for them.

I think the stretchy bands are a great idea, and would be a perfect complement to the finch workout... I think I will go ahead and purchase one.

What mechanics does your DD use ? WE have one and my DDs used it untill we realized it was messing up their mechanics (IR).
With any resistance , at the top of the circle it forces you to turn your hand over and push the ball down through the back half of the circle (hand behind the ball) . I tried it and the only way I could have the ball in the correct positions through the circle or use any arm whip (IR) was with no resistance at all. Ours just collects dust now , so if anyone is interested in a used one .
