Our 3B was reluctant to hand over her glove, and looked like she might cry when I took my first few whacks at it. She's a happy camper now. She's also thrilled about the magical finger-shift I showed her...after the "it feels weird" phase.

Yeah, we have a catcher who is just awesome, we have 2 solid "A" catchers, the first one I referred to is a hitting machine so when it's not her turn to catch, we've started playing her in the outfield. We just ordered her a Rawlings PRO303-CTB full trap glove from Don Morton's, a real mans glove! I showed her how to use the glove two in the pinky (TIP) and she was surprised at how easy she could close her new glove and how that glove just swallowed a 12" ball. Within an hour she was converted.

Cool. I have converted both of our left-side IF recently. The leverage advantage is magical. :)

This might be a little off topic, but is it a bad thing if a glove closes on its own when you lay it on its side? My DD glove is well broken in and I am wondering if it needs to be replaced.

Yes and no. Yes in the fact that many believe that it's a bad thing if it closes on it's own. No by the very same fact that it may just be well broken in. It all depends on the finger stalls, stiffness of the fingers and the glove strings not being too far stretched, which can easily be repaired by a good glovesmith. As long as the leather has not been to broken down where the fingerstalls/fingers of the glove itself are so flimsy that the ball can't be caught or grasped properly you'll probably be fine. The best way to know would be to ship it to a good glovesmith and get their opinion.

Vinci BV1929-L. May be the last glove you ever buy. Get with one of the Vinci reps on DFP and see what kind of a deal they can cut you.

I've bought 2 Vinci gloves...one for each dd
The Optimus is heavy duty... Will require a lengthy break in, but will most likely last her into college... FYI buy 1/2" bigger than you really want. My dd likes a 12.5" so her Vinci is a 13"

I agree with Drakemir about the Fortus Series. It really is for a younger or rec player.

What I would recommend from Vinci is the 22 Series RCV1200-22 (12"). It plays true to size, is fairly stiff & a very good value. If you want better, look at a Vinci Limited Mesh Series RCV-VM (12.5"). This one plays a little smaller than spec. It will require an extensive break-in period but it will last her throughout HS & possibly into college.

Yeah - I've sent several PM's over the last week. Not sure if you're getting them or not? Not sure what the issue is?

FYI, my question is about the BV1929-L and if other leather or color options are available and if so what is the price difference and is there an additional delay before shipping?
