the 22 is a steer hide glove, compared to the Kip leather on upper end gloves. Leather is a bit more grainy but still a great glove though - breaks in faster than the Kip, but doesn't hold up quite as long (but will still last years with proper care) I sell a lot of them for a secondary glove as they are a bit cheaper than the Kip ones.
