As of this morning, we only have one review on the 2017 Anderson RockeTech 2.0 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP17ROC) . But, the RockeTech is typically the highest rated alloy fastpitch bat year after year. Here is what a softball dad had to say about this model:

Pros: Excellent pop. End loaded but still easy to swing. Don't have to worry about temperature when using like you do with the full composite bats. Similar pop to the 2014 Xeno but better than the recent Xeno models.

Cons: Has about the same amount of pop as the Louisville Slugger Xeno without the satisfaction of the sound the Xeno gives off. Somewhat difficult to determine exactly where on the barrel the ball makes contact, but easy to determine if off the handle or end because of the hand sting vs. a two piece bat.

I live in an area that was Rocketech crazy. Both daughters swung them, one until we absolutely had to go composite. The best bat my younger daughter ever swung was an Anderson Rocketflex.

Anyone who thinks a Rocketech 2.0 is as good as a Rocketech or Xeno is crazy. That company tanked when its founder Steven Anderson left a couple years ago. Rocketech 2.0 and Supernova are not bats Mr. Anderson designed and it shows in their performance.

if you can find a used 2013 RT on eBay with a new USSSA stamp they were a very good bat. I would not be afraid to buy one if it is in good condition. The newer red/silver ones are ok but had quality control issues. Keep in mind that no other bat will feel like a RT and no colleges use them so they are kind of a dead end deal if your dd wants to play after high school.

Justbats are you a sponsor here or what?

Sorry, any parent can get bat marketing drivel in 10 different places, not sure it is needed here.

DD's college team switched to them this fall. From what I understand none of the girls were none too pleased with the switch. Just from what I saw the Rocketech performed better than the Supernova and in my opinion the Supernova is an absolute turd. The sweet spot is small and you really have to hit it on the sweet spot to get the ball to go anywhere.

Seemed like a pretty honest review? Most of just bats comments have been informative and helpful IMO.

The helpful comments are exactly what you get pages and pages of on their site where they are trying to sell you something. That is not what I come here for but to each his own.

The advice I have seen on that site has not even been close in quality to the advice I have gotten here at DFP by the regular posters.

I'm right here.
My DD has been using the 2.0 (-9) for a few years now, she is on her second one that I was able to buy at a real low price. She also started using her sister's Xeno (-10) after she graduated HS last spring. She switches on and off during each game. The ball off the Xeno seems to have more "life" to it than it does of the RT 2.0. Trying to figure out if she should start considering other brands and models.

Agree w/ WW, Anderson effectively ceased to exist upon Steven Anderson's departure. IIRC, this would mean that the 2015 or later models are Anderson in name only. With respect to the "real" Andersons, and the Rocketech in particular - these bats hung with the best composites during the pre-ABI era (pre 2008). For those that never experienced the pre-ABI composites, they put the post-ABI composites to shame. IMO, the pre-ABI composites outperformed the RT on non-sweet spot contact (the RT was heavy, endloaded, and had a notoriously small sweet spot and was not nearly as forgiving as the composites when the sweet spot was missed), but when squared up the RT was the top dog bombdropper. Good bat to learn to hit with, because it doesn't reward sloppy mechanics - if you can hit w/ a RT, you can hit with anything else. The Rocketflex was a composite-handled Rocketech that, in DD's and IMO, was the best Anderson ever made.

Greenmonsters, I got thinking about the RF yesterday. I think it was mis-marketed. I think a lot of Rocketech faithful kids (that were the right type of hitter for this bat) and their parents turned their nose up at that bat because it was marked -10 and they felt like it was a step backwards going from a -9 RT to a -10. It really wasn't a -10 especially in swing weight. DD always claimed it swung a little heavier than her identical RT's. More end loaded maybe? Was definitely a step up from RT for both the kids that I knew that were swinging them. Those bats hit lasers. That's what I remember when I think of them.

I don't think they had the connection quite right, DD burned through two in two years but she only had one at a time and hit it in practice, lots of machine, etc. The connection got wonky in both and it took the zip out of it. Still, any bat that you can get a full year of practice and games is a bargain.

I also wish bat companies would adopt the small knob or make it a custom option or something. I know she misses that.
