So it looks like my DD's college is going to choose Demarini as their official bat. DD has been using a Miken Freak Black after they outlawed her SCN1B. Are there different Demarini models? Which one should I buy? She has been swinging a 34/24, but I may see if she wants to go back to a 33/23.

Regular balanced, Hope (same as regular balanced with diff paint), insane (endload), sprite (drop 11), Slapper...then your typical drop 8 and 9 model.

If she is swinging a 34/24 MFB and doing well, she can easily handle a 34/24 CF9 balanced. Their bats are very close to sticker...closest
of any manufacturer.

In my DD's opinion, the balanced drop-10 CF-series bats feel very similar to her MFB. She still prefers the MFB.

DD prefers the CF8 over the Miken Freak.... Both are hot but she liked the feel better

PC - what is STK doing still swinging a -11??? Gotta get her into a real bat or at least a -10 for now!

She has 2Legit -10 32/ 22.... for 2 years. She usually gets task with lead-off in school ball, so I got her the slapper bat. She hit the OTFHR with it
:{))

The bat plan from lead-off is to get on... steal a couple bases, be the first team to score.
With the lead, and having seen pitcher, bring out the 2Legit... take 2 big cuts, nothing, get on again... :{))

If you are trying to teach her good mechanics, at least use the heavier bat when working on her swing. At her age/size, a -11 or -12 bat hides slop that a slightly heavier bat reveals and forces you to correct. Don't force her to use a bat she doesn't like in game situations, but also make sure that she understands that the same swing speed with a heavier bat will hit the ball harder/further than a lighter bat.

FWIW, we worked DD's swing with a Rocketech. Once she learned to swing that well, she never had any physical or mental issues swinging whatever length or weight bat she was asked/told/wanted to.
