Looks like DD's team is headed to a tournament this fall that will be played on 100% turf fields. DD is a catcher and has never played a game on turf. What shoes do you suggest - regular tennis shoes or turf shoes?
Bought my DD a pair of Boombah Rage turf shoes, these are a men's model but the conversion chart worked perfectly. I have no doubt that Ringor turfs are better all the way around but these Boombah's were $35.00. Bought them just for college camps that have turf batting facilities and say NO cleats!
Turf shoes or any sneaker with "nubby" soles will work fine. One thing to consider, however, is that a number of turf fields that we have played on actually have grass outfields, so outfielders tend to prefer traditional molded cleats for better grip in the outfield.
Ringor turfs are extremely durable and work very well. My daughter's Ringors look brand new after a year of use, primarily on turf but also the occasional pitching lesson on dirt.
DD loves her Ringor Turf shoes. Ringor will give you a team discount for both cleats and turf shoes. If you can get the team to agree, then call Ringor Sales and they will hook you up.
